Q: Why is this site called 'Spareoom.net"? Its not about the Spare Oom, as far as I can see.
A: When I was preparing to purchase a domain for my site several months before LWW came out, I knew that I would have to act fast otherwise all the uniquely Narnian names would be all gone, and I would have to resort to something more creative but less known. I also wanted a name that wasn't graphics related, in case I wanted to expand the site later. So I picked Spareoom.net because its a fairly well known Narnian object, but it's also unique and special.

Q: Who runs this site? Do you have multiple staff members?
A: "I" run this site (as in Elisa), and no, I don't have anyone who helps me run it (unless you count my dad, who writes a lot of my PHP for me. :D )

Q: How do you make banners? What about avatars? Or bases? Or wallpapers? Or...
A: All graphics related questions can be answered here.

Q: How did you make your site?
A: With a lot of hard work, naturally! I don't use any programs to code my HTML for me, so everything was done by hand. I've never taken any formal web building classes either, so I had to search the internet for tutorials on how to do certain things. It took a long time. But it was worth it!

Q: What software do you use?
A: I use Adobe Photoshop and Imageready to make my graphics, CuteHTML to code my site (the text interface is a little easier on the eyes then Notepad is, so I use this) and SmartFTP to upload the files to my site. My site is hosted by GoDaddy.

Q: Is there any thing I can do to help you with your site?
A: Not really, but thanks for asking! :) I am however, looking for content for my Cast Bios and the Humor section. Feel free to send me an email if you have anything to add! :) Proper credit will be given, of course.

Q: How do you get this web effect? How about this one? Or this one?
A: Everything I learned came from tutorials that I found online, and by looking at other site's source codes to see how they did a certain effect. I suggest checking out Lissa Explains for some awesome, easy-to-understand tutorials on how to do certain things with your site. :)

Q: I tried to go to a page on your site, but it says "Sorry, this page cannot be found." Is there anything I can do?
A: Yes! Please send me an email and please include the link to the page you were trying to get to. I promise to get to it ASAP!

Q: Can I use your site's content on my site?
A: Depends on what kind of content you want to use. Not much is available right now because my site is so small. You can post up to five avatars, two blends and/or one wallpaper to your site, (with proper credit given, of course) but you are not allowed to post any of the bases in their original form. I don't mind if you use them to make avatars of your own (that's what they're for) but its a discredit to my work if you upload them just as they are and offer them to other people. You can, of course, link back to my site if you'd like to direct people to graphics.

Q: Do you make your own layouts?
A: Yes, I do. I figured that since I can make graphics and I can make websites, why not combine the two and come up with something that is truly unique?

Q: Can my site be affiliates with yours?
A: I am accepting affiliates now (you can apply here). Currently I am only accepting Narnia related sites (cast and movie), and not all sites will be accepted.

Q: Do you have any personal interaction with the cast/crew of Narnia?
A: No, I don't, but I would love to! I got to ask the crew of PC a question at Comic-Con of '06, but that's the closest I've ever gotten. ;)

Q: Do you pay money for this site?
A: Yes, I do.

Q: Where do you get all the pictures you use in your graphics?
A: From various sources. Two good places to get them is Narniaweb's Image Gallery and thePHOTOBOX I also have quite a collection in my Gallery!!

Q: Will you be part of my site's managing team?
A: No, I'm sorry. I have little enough time as is to manage my own site, let alone another one.

Q: Will you make me a layout? An avatar? A banner? Any graphic?
A: I'm sorry, but I'm not taking requests as of right now.

Q: I was unable to sign your guestbook. Do you know what's wrong?
A: I've noticed that this has been happening to a few people. I looked into the problem and I think I know what's wrong. Make sure you've filled out all the fields, notably the one that asks you to type out the code that you will on in a little image. Your entry will not publish to the guestbook unless you type out the code; this prevents robots and trolls from spamming my guestbook. It verifies that you are indeed, human. ;)

Q: What is 'hotlinking'?
A: Hotlinking is when you take an image from a site and then display that picture on another site or forum by using the first site's hosting. For instance, if you were to hotlink an image from mysite, the URL that you would have would look similar to this: "http://www.spareoom.net/images/blablabla.jpg". This is also called 'direct linking'.
Never, ever, ever hotlink another site's images, unless they say it is alright. Everytime you hotlink an image, it uses up the site owner's bandwidth, or web space. Bandwidth is expensive, and hotlinking can make the site be so difficult to run that the owner may shut down the site all together.
Don't hotlink. Save the image you'd like to use to your own computer and upload it to a comman image hoster instead. (Tutorial here). The site owner will really appreciate it! :)
