Lucy skids to a stop. There in the alcove stands Tumnus.

Aslan appears beside her. Lucy turns to him, eyes full of tears. He leans forward and...BREATHES ON TUMNUS' FACE.

A WARM GLOW SPREADS OVER THE FAUN, moving across his frozen body LIKE A FLAME CATCHING.

Tumnus comes alive. He stumbles. Lucy, with tears in her eyes, rushes to catch him. Lucy wraps her arms around him, squeezing tight. When she lets go, Tumnus looks up to see Susan.

LUCY
Susan, this is-

Susan throws her arms around the stunned faun.

SUSAN
Mr. Tumnus!

ASLAN
Now we must hurry and search the castle. Peter will need everyone we can find.

PAN ACROSS THE YARD OF STONE STATUES...

A125 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - DAY
PAN ACROSS THE SILENT DEVASTATED BATTLEFIELD. STONE STATUES and WOUNDED SOLDIERS litter the ground.

Suddenly, A DISTANT CLASH echoes from the ROCKS. A GRYPHON dives towards the Witch who turns him to stone.

PETER sees the WHITE WITCH as she knocks over a stone statue and advances. PETER turns to EDMUND.

PETER
Edmund! There's too many! Get out of here.

EDMUND hesitates.

PETER (cont´d)
Get the girls and get them home!

Beaver drags Edmund away.

MR. BEAVER
You heard him. Let's go!

B125 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - DAY
Peter finds himself SURROUNDED BY OGRES.

C125 EXT. BATTLEFIELD, CLIFF - DAY
Edmund spies...THE WITCH STALKING STRAIGHT FOR PETER. He draws his sword. Beaver grabs his arm.

MR. BEAVER
Peter said to get out of here!

EDMUND
Alt: He's not King yet.

Edmund turns and rushes back toward Peter.

D125 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - DAY
Peter fights with the ogres, unaware of the Witch's approach.

E125 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, VARIOUS ROCKS - DAY
EDMUND RUNS, fighting valiantly, vaulting over statues.

F125 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - DAY
The Witch closes in on Peter. SHE RAISES HER WAND. THE TIP SPARKLES.

EDMUND LEAPS, BRINGING HIS SWORD DOWN, SMASHING HER WAND.

Half the wand falls harmlessly to the ground, JUST A STICK.

Peter spins.

The Witch stares from the broken wand in her hand...to Edmund.

HER GREEN EYES GO WIDE. EDMUND TRIES TO ROLL CLEAR.

WITH A SCREAM, SHE STABS HIM WITH THE JAGGED END OF HER WAND.

PETER
EDMUND!

Edmund lies still, the wand sticking from his ribs.

PETER CHARGES THE WITCH. SHE SMILES AND GRABS EDMUND'S SWORD.

Peter and the Witch battle through the huge, high rocks.

PETER LUNGES, BUT LOSES HIS FOOTING ON THE GRAVEL. THE WITCH SWINGS. PETER BARELY DEFLECTS THE BLOW.

125 EXT. CLIFF, OVERLOOKING THE BATTLE - DAY
A BACKLIT SILHOUETTE APPEARS...ASLAN. HE ROARS.

Below, the creatures turn in fear.

The Witch looks up.

WHITE WITCH (whispers)
Impossible.

Hundreds of other shadows join Aslan along the cliff top.

SUSAN AND LUCY jump down from the back of a centaur.

126 EXT. BATTLEFIELD, CLIFF - DAY
THE WITCH'S TROOPS FLEE. Peter's army stares, AMAZED.

ASLAN'S EYES SCAN THE BATTLEFIELD. HE SPIES:

127 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - CONTINUOUS
Peter looks to Aslan and smiles, amazed. The White Witch sees her opportunity and swings knocking him down.

Taking advantage of Peter's distraction, the desperate Witch strikes a savage blow.

Peter's sword clatters across the rocks.

SHE KICKS HIM IN THE HEAD. Peter sprawls to the ground, helpless. He looks up. The Witch's eyes gleam.

THEN SUDDENLY...A LOW GROWL.

THE WITCH'S EYES POP WIDE TO SEE...

ASLAN, cutting through the battle, EYES FIXED RIGHT ON HER.

ASLAN POUNCES...OVER PETER...DRIVING THE WITCH TO THE GROUND.

Peter stares, awed and terrified.

A SAVAGE ROAR SHAKES THE LAND. A MOUTHFUL OF TEETH FLASH IN THE SUN.

Gradually, the noise of the battle fades.

AND THOUGH REINFORCEMENTS BATTLE ALL AROUND THEM...

PETER AND ASLAN STAND ALONE.

ASLAN GAZES AT HIM WITH SORROWFUL LOOK.

ASLAN
It is finished.

128 EXT. FINAL FIGHT, ROCKS - MOMENTS LATER
Susan and Lucy run down to Peter on the smouldering battlefield.

SUSAN
Peter!

Lucy hugs him. Susan scans the carnage.

SUSAN (cont´d)
Where's Edmund?

SUSAN SEES THE TEARS WELL IN PETER'S EYES.

EDMUND LIES, MORTALLY WOUNDED.

PAN over the weapon-strewn ground to...

GINARRBRIK, fallen in the mud. HE STARES AT EDMUND, EYES RED WITH HATE.

The dwarf's gnarled hand reaches out and grips AN AXE. He drags himself to his feet.

HIS SHADOW falls over the helpless Edmund. The boy's eyes flutter, then freeze with fear.

Above him, Ginarrbrik bares his teeth and RAISES THE AXE.

ACROSS THE FIELD, the other Pevensies search frantically.

SUDDENLY, SUSAN SEES SOMETHING OVER PETER'S SHOULDER.

SUSAN (cont´d)
EDMUND!

Peter drops, as Susan WHIPS AN ARROW FROM HER QUIVER.

SHE LETS FLY.

Ginarrbrik starts to swing his axe, then STOPS.

He looks down: THE POINT OF AN ARROW PROTRUDES FROM HIS SHOULDER. HE TOPPLES OVER.

Peter, Susan and Lucy race to Edmund.

Susan cradles his head. Peter stares at his wounds.

Lucy nudges Peter aside, producing the TINY CRYSTAL VIAL. She falls to her knees and unstops the bottle.

ONE GLISTENING DROP splashes onto Edmund's lips.

Edmund's ragged breath becomes regular. After a moment, his eyes open. He smiles, weak but alive.

Lucy hugs him for a long time. Peter and Susan smile, tears in their eyes. Peter smiles softly:

PETER
When are you going to learn to do as you're told?

Edmund coughs. Strength returning. He grins back.

The four children laugh and hug as Aslan joins them.

129 EXT. BATTLEFIELD, HIGH OVER HEAD - DAY
FLY OVER THE BATTLEFIELD as the children administer to the wounded. Lucy dishes out potion and Aslan breathes life back into the frozen statues...
