Lucy strokes the Lion's flank, her voice choking.

SUSAN
We should go.

Lucy shakes her head, but Susan gently pulls her away from the table. Lucy wraps her arms around herself.

LUCY
I'm so cold.

They walk toward the Eastern slope.

Suddenly, A LOW RUMBLE builds.

LUCY (cont´d)
Susan!

CRACK! THE AIR EXPLODES WITH THE SOUND OF THUNDER!

Susan and Lucy pitch to the ground, terrified.

THE WORLD TREMBLES for a few seconds, then subsides, leaving the hill in silence.

Susan grips the grass. Lucy gets up, slowly. She turns around and...GASPS.

BEFORE THEM LIES THE STONE TABLE, BROKEN IN TWO, A GREAT CRACK RUNNING END TO END.

LUCY (cont´d)
Where's Aslan?

SUSAN
What have they done?

They whip around to see...

ASLAN, LARGER, SHINING IN THE SUNRISE, BRIGHTER THAN GOLD.

The girls tremble with astonishment, then...

GIRLS
Aslan!

They fling their arms around him, burying their faces in his fur. Aslan purrs low.

SUSAN
But we saw the knife! The Witch-

ASLAN
If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice she might have interpreted the deep magic differently.

Aslan gazes at the rising sun.

ASLAN (cont´d)
That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery is killed in a traitors stead...

Aslan looks solemnly over to the shattered table.

ASLAN (cont´d)
...the Stone Table will crack and even death itself will turn backwards.

SUSAN
We sent the news that you were dead. Peter and Edmund will have gone to war.

LUCY
We have to help them.

ASLAN
We will dear one, but not alone. Climb on my back. We have far to go and little time to get there.

The girls cover their ears, grinning.

Aslan shakes his mighty mane and ROARS.

123 EXT. BATTLEFIELD - DAY
From EDMUND'S vantage point, he SEES THE WHITE WITCH SEND IN HER INFANTRY. He signals. A FLAMING ARROW shoots high.

A PHOENIX strafes the battlefield, disintegrating as it lays down a WALL OF FIRE, cutting off the Witch's troops.

Peter's troops cheer. But then the Witch drives her chariot right through, EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE. Her army pours in.

PETER
Fall back! Draw them to the rocks!

Edmund and Beaver react.

MR. BEAVER
That's the signal! Come on!

120 EXT. WITCH'S CASTLE - DAY
Aslan and the girls bound across a grassy field.

Aslan gallops over a ridge.

SUSAN
Where are we going?

Before them rises THE WITCH'S MELTING CASTLE. Ice falls from the decaying structure.

ASLAN
Hang on!

Aslan digs his claws into the dirt, tensing his muscles. The girls shut their eyes.

HE LEAPS, SAILING OVER THE CASTLE WALL. THE GIRLS SCREAM.

124 EXT. BATTLEFIELD, CHARIOT RUN - DAY
Peter and Oreius lead the White Witch's army into Edmund's defenses further up the canyon.

Edmund orders his archers to fire on the advancing White Witch army. A wave of her troops go down, but the army continues on.

GINARRBRIK, from a ridge above the canyon, fires an arrow, hitting Peter's unicorn. Peter is flung from the unicorn leaving him exposed to the advancing army.

EDMUND indicates to OREIUS what has happened to Peter. OREIUS wheels around, exchanges a look with a RHINO and together they turn back to help Peter.

OREIUS and RHINO pass Peter heading straight for the White Witch.

PETER
No!

Ankle Slicers bring down RHINO. OREIUS continues, killing OTMIN on his charge.

Oreius leaps over her polar bears, swinging at the Witch. She ducks, and with a THRUST OF HER WAND, TURNS HIM TO STONE.
