No Pirates Here is an off-shoot of Spareoom.net, owned and maintained by the Lisa (a.k.a. me. ;).

What?
No Pirates Here is committed to bringing together sites that do not use pirated (or bootleg) movie clips or caps in their graphics or galleries. We believe that the use of bootleg clips and caps is violating the spirit of the Anti-Piracy law, and while it may be technically okay, it doesn't serve well to increase the merit and legitimacy of your website. We believe in honoring the industry's wishes and waiting to get caps and clips from legal DVD's.

When?
During the theatrical release of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, I was concerned at the number of websites I saw offering bootleg clips and caps of the movie. I thought, "It's basically the same thing as pirating, only your conscience feels better because you don't physically take anything". I knew I was going to wait for the movie to come on on DVD to get my caps, and I knew there were other sites out there that felt the same way as me. So in spring of "07, with a big blockbuster summer approaching, I opened No Pirates Here as a way to get all the like-minded sites together.

Why?
We don't use bootleg clips and caps because:

• Your website's integrity is not diminished by using technically illegal clips and caps, which may turn off visitors from visiting your site again.
  
• Bootleg caps tend to have a very crummy quality. By using these, you pretty much gaurentee sub-par graphics from them.
  
• It makes you feel better inside to wait. ;)
  
• And, you get to join cool sites like us! ;)
