Tash is the chief Calormene god and the complete opposite of Aslan. Most Calormenes only pay him lip-service, and are terrified when he does appear in 2555 NT. The main deception of that time was when Shift and some of the Calormenes attempted to merge Tash and Aslan together into a single entity called "Tashlan". In doing so, they call upon him to come to Narnia not really believing in him, and not expecting him to actually show up. When he does however, he takes up residence in the Stable and becomes an object of fear and terror. Sensing that great evil lurks in the Stable, the Calormenesendeavor to throw all the Narnians into it to their deaths. He nearly eats Ginger, and does eat Shift when he is thrown into the Stable. When Rishda Tarkaan is forced into the Stable by Tirian, Tash is banished by one of the High Kings (presumably Peter) and leaves, taking Rishda with him.
