Drinian is a Lord of Narnia and captain of the Dawn Treader. He sails with Caspian on his quest to find the seven lost Lords, and is full of practical knowledge and loyalty. A good sailor, he guides the King and his crew through the sea to their final destination and then back.
Years later, Drinian was Prince Rilian's chief older friend and advises him to give up his quest to avenge his mother's death. He even follows Rilian to one of his secret rendezvous with the mysterious Lady, and is not taken in by her charm and recognizes her as evil.
When Rilian disappears, Drinian is mortified and feels partially responsible because he did not tell Caspian about Rilian's secret meetings. When he informs Caspian of the truth, he awaits his death. Caspian moves to slay him with an axe but comes to his senses and the two friends embrace and weep together.
Of Drinian's later life, not much is known, but he is counted amoung the faithful at the Great Reunion in Aslan's Country.
